I've been on a mouthpiece journey with Andy Snitzer for a couple of years now. Andy first played my ESP and he liked it quite a bit but he felt that he needed a little more highs in the sound due to the amount of contemporary playing and recording that he does. So I made the ESP-X for Andy and another good friend of mine, Joe Mennonna. They both loved the piece and since then Andy and Joe have been playing nothing but the ESP-X.

When I started thinking about the concept for the DV, I was thinking about players like Andy, Ed Calle, Michael Brecker, etc. I felt that these type of players needed more power than the ESP-X gave them. My goal was to create a mouthpiece that would completely conquer the most screaming gigs, yet be versatile enough for a much wider range of playing situations than most bright loud mouthpieces allow. When I let Andy play the DV prototype he was blown away. I won't say that he begged me, but he beseeched me to let him take it to Japan for an important tour the next week. I had to deny his request because at this time I didn't have the Patent finished and Andy or no one else had seen the inside of the mouthpiece. I even insisted on putting his reed on for him so he wouldn't see the secondary window. For me the DV was playing exactly where I wanted it it to be. But when Andy had that reaction I was reassured that I had struck mouthpiece gold because Andy really loved the ESP-X and for him to be ready so quickly to change pieces was big.

The same thing happened when Ed Calle played the DV prototype in Miami in the summer of 2004. Ed strongly requested to be able to play the mouthpiece on a record he was doing in July but again I had to deny the request. I love all my mouthpieces, they are like my children and they are all great to me, but I have never had more confidence in a new mouthpiece than I have in the DV.

How to Order:
Due to the specialized custom nature of the DV there is no automatic check out on the website. You must read below and you will see that ordering is simple. It is important to us that you learn our policies before you try a DV.

Two Week Trial Policy for the DV:
On the day we ship the DV to you, we will Authorize your card for the full amount of the DV plus any extra shipping charges if you elect to use a faster from of shipping than UPS Ground which is included. Overseas will be charged the US Mail Global Express Fee for your country. This is a faster and safer method than Air Mail and it is trackable. We will let you know the fee to your country before we ship. Prices seem to range from $19.50 to $27.00

Very important information: For a full refund minus shipping the mouthpiece needs to be back to us two weeks after we ship it out.

But please read this next part carefully: You have exactly 10 days from the day we ship to try the mouthpiece and decide whether or not you will keep it. Example. We ship on February 1st. Add 10 days to the first to get your date of February 11th. You must tell us before or on this day your of your decision to keep or return the mouthpiece. Please communicate with us, we do not like to capture funds without hearing from you but we will if we have to. Caring for the DV during the trial: Utmost care must be taken with the DV during its trial. After each playing session it should be gently washed and dried off with an extremely soft cloth that won’t scratch. (rub softly) Please do not return a mouthpiece that has not been cleaned.

Scratches: If you use a metal ligature on the DV during it’s trial, consider the mouthpiece sold. If we receive a mouthpiece with scratches, we will charge your card the full amount of the DV plus shipping and handling charges to cover returning it to you. There are no exceptions to this. We think that it is a privilege to be able to have a free trial of a piece of this caliber with no restocking fee. We expect that our customers will be extremely careful during the trial process.
